The woman made her way back home from the market place, the trip getting harder for her. Oh maybe she shouldn’t have gone out. It was cold, a fresh layer of snow covering the ground and rooftop’s. Light fluffy flakes floated down from the heavens. It wasn’t that bad out, pretty nice, really. But to the old sickly woman it was trouble.
Tahira followed the trail she always took to go back home, spotting a few children sliding down the hills and throwing snowballs. It was a nice sight to watch, how she wished she could idle here. But no, she needed to get home and put away the food and the rest of the things she bought. It was all tucked in neatly in the basket Tazim made.
The sounds of children and the people faded, slowly everything became blurry. Legs not able to move, they bucked under her weight. The snow broke her fall, the basket spilling it’s contents. Coughing Tahira reached out for it.
Hand fell back into the snow, eyes slowly closed. A pain slowly building up but was dulled as everything faded to black.
